Hopefully

Hope guides me,
Its what gets me through each day,
Especially the night,
Hopefully I'm still a gemstone,
Still in the hands of the Lapidory
Undergoin artistic reconstruction
Till I reach dat mark of perfection
2 earn my place on the breastplate of ritiousness.
I'M Glad the road is not as gloomy as it seems. This movement kind feels radarless but I just know its gona work out.

SEO

Still on the issue of my online portfolio, After really looking at the jobs at oDesk I discovered that two in particular grabbed my interest. The thing with these two is that I have no particular experience in them and these are not the type of jobs you can make up stories about as you need to have online proof of the particular experience.
The first one is a SEO – Search Engine Optimization
I managed to land on to a site that promises : How to Become an SEO Freelancer in 48 Hours
Like I always say : TOUCH LETS GO!
I must admit these first few sentences got me both excited and encouraged about living through the next 48 hours
There are a lot of skills out there that you can become proficient in very quickly if you:
  1. Spend the time to learn the techniques
  2. Have the resources necessary to get you there.  This is the case with just about every single computer related job out there.
You don’t need special training or fancy degrees.  You just have to be willing to learn, able put in the hours to learn the basics, and not be afraid to ask for help from time to time.”
The overarching goal is to rank your client’s (or your own) websites as highly as possible in Google for specific key terms
The following are the basic fundamentals of a successful SEO campaign:
  • Keyword Research. This is the process of sorting out the good key terms the bad.  You may rank first for “the best freaking blog in the whole entire world” but if no one is searching for that – it means nothing.  At the same time, you don’t want to try and rank for the term “blog” because you’ll never succeed – there’s too much competition.  In the keyword research phase of the process you figure out which key words have the best combination of attainability and sufficient traffic, allowing you to see positive results
  • Competitive Analysis. This is one of the most important components when you’re doing work for a company who has pretty strong competition.  By looking at your competitor’s websites you’ll get ideas for key terms, understand the strengths and weaknesses of their site, and be able to capitalize on the things they aren’t doing so well.
  • On-Site Analysis. Essentially there are two major types of SEO: on site and off site. On site is everything that you can control on your site.  This can include things like page titles, optimized sitemap, meta data, content, optimized photos etc. Off site is everything you can’t control.  The primary aspect of this is incoming links from other sites.  Links are the currency of the internet, and we’ll expand more on that topic later on.  By reviewing and making changes to all of the things you do have control of on your own site, you’ll be making big progress towards favorable rankings, more traffic, and in turn, more revenue.
Link Building. Let’s break this down in the most simple blanket statement possible: more links = better rankings. The higher the quality of links (meaning links from large and relevant sites) you can obtain, the more likely you’re rankings will improve
As part of my training I was referred to the following, four of the most important free resources that you should read in depth as it relates to SEO basics
If you don’t have time now, make sure you bookmark this and come back to it later:
  • SEO Moz Beginners Guide to SEO. This book covers a lot of the theory behind SEO and will help you to understand they hows and whys of the field.
  • WebConfs SEO Tutorial. This one expands into some of the individual SEO disciplines a lot more than the SEO Moz guide, and is one of the best overviews that I’ve gone through.
  • SEO 101. This is a 15 part series from Search Engine Guide.  Its 15 detailed blog posts about 15 aspects of SEO – don’t miss this one.
  • SEO Book SEO Glossary. SEO Book is one the leading resources on the internet, and this is a really in depth glossary. It’s worth reviewing for key terms, and book marking for easy access later on.
The next 48 hours is back to school for me and thank God I have this blog to take my notes on.

On line world very BIG world

Like every thing else in the world this aren't easy.
1. I joined http://www.odesk.com/, an online freelance job market and according to them I'm still not oDesk ready.not that I blame them or anything I guess I thought it would be easier than that.
2. To apply for anything online you need to have a profile picture and it needs to look a certain way  which is one of the first things I need to get done today.
3. An online portfolio containing relevent content is the make or break in this industry something to quote and actually tell people that you know what you taker(better than a cv)
4.Social Media management is not as easy as it sounds there are people selling http://www.facebook.com/ and http://www.twitter.com/ fans out there and they do not come cheap.
5.This has nothing to do with the fact that I'm from a so called third world country but the past few weeks have just opened my eyes to just how massive the this .com pond is,indeed I do feel like a tiny fish.
The greatest thing about this whole experiment is that I;m learning and loving this world with every click. my posts have not rached the level I would like them truth is it gets better with time.
